Endodontic Treatments
Is a root canal right for you? Dr. Sandeep Kanwar will work with you to determine if endodontic treatment could save your teeth. We’ll get to the root of the problem!

To understand the importance of root canal treatments, you must consider the structure of an individual tooth. Under your tooth’s enamel is a hard layer called dentin and below that is a soft tissue referred to as the pulp, which contains blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue. Endodontic treatment is necessary when the pulp becomes inflamed or infected due to deep decay, repeated dental procedures, malfunctioning crowns, or chips and cracks. If left untreated, pulp inflammation or infection can cause pain and/or lead to an abscess.

During a root canal, Dr. Kanwar removes the infected/inflamed pulp and carefully cleans and disinfects the remaining tooth structure. The tooth is then sealed with a rubber-like material and is capped with a crown or filling for additional protection. A root canal can be completed in just a few visits to Millcreek Dental Care. Root canals can help patients chew better and have a normal bite. A root canal can also improve the appearance of your teeth and can protect other teeth from excessive wear or strain.
